HAPPINESS & LEADERSHIP IN THE MULTI-CULTURAL WORKFORCE 11 June 2010

09:00 – 17:00 WORKSHOP - Happiness & Leadership in the Mutli-Cutlural Workforce: Boosting Employee Engagement across Cultures by Philip Merry

Culture

Working with people from different cultures is commonplace in today’s global business world.  In Singapore’s multi-cultural workplace many of the problems organisations encounter can be attributed to cultural misunderstanding, and high levels of productivity can only be achieved with engagement of all the cultures in the workforce. Hence, it is vitally important that executives develop a high level of multi-cultural skills.

Happiness & Employee Engagement

Positive Psychology research indicates an important causal connection between Happiness and Employee Engagement. There is increasing evidence showing that as happiness increases so does engagement – which in turn impacts productivity. So when leaders truly understand what makes different cultures happy there is a boost to productivity.

CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING = HAPPINESS = ENGAGEMENT = PRODUCTIVITY IN THE MULTI-CULTURAL WORKFORCE

This workshop will enable participants to understand the secrets and skills for boosting happiness, engagement, and productivity in a multicultural organisation. Numerous case studies will be shared based on the workshop leader Philip Merry’s 30 years experience of running cross cultural leadership and team events in 51 countries. A mixture of content input and interactive/experiential exercises, will enable participants to gain a real appreciation of culture's influence on engagement and the ability to apply the learning to their business.
